Braemar Castle was built and launched in 1952 by Harland & Wolff in Belfast (Northern Ireland) with a tonnage of 17029grt, a length of 576 ft 5 in, a beam of 74ft 3in and a service speed of 17.5 knots. She was employed in the Round Africa service. At the end 1965 she was sold for breaking at Faslane (Scotland) on 6 January 1966.
