Postage stamp issued un Sweden in 2006.

The rälsbuss—a self-propelled rail vehicle resembling a bus—gained popularity in Sweden starting in the 1930s (thanks to manufacturers such as Hilding Carlsson) and saw widespread use during the 1950s and 1960s by the state-owned railway company Statens Järnvägar (SJ); the company began withdrawing them from service in 1979, after which they were moved to museums and are now used for tourism purposes.

Euston railway station (or London Euston) is a major central London railway terminus and connected London Underground station managed by Network Rail in the London Borough of Camden. It is the southern terminus of the West Coast Main Line, the UK's busiest inter-city railway. Euston is the gateway from London to the West Midlands, North West England, North Wales and Scotland. Euston was the first inter-city railway station in London. It opened on 20 July 1837 as the terminus of the London and Birmingham Railway (L&BR). It was demolished in the 1960s and replaced with the present building in the international modern style.

Albert Pick Hotels was a historic American hotel chain founded by Albert Pick Sr. At its peak in the 1950s, it was the third-largest hotel chain in the United States. The corporation finally closed between the 1960s and 1980s due to the age of its downtown locations.

The Verdun Memorial is a war memorial to commemorate the Battle of Verdun, fought in 1916 as part of the First World War. It is situated on the battlefield, close to the destroyed village of Fleury-devant-Douaumont in the département of Meuse in north-eastern France. It was built during the 1960s, financed by the writer and WWI veteran Maurice Genevoix ( and has been open to the public since 17 September 1967. It remembers both French and German combatants as well as the civilian populations lost during the Battle of Verdun.

SS Constitution was an ocean liner (683 feet long, 30,293 tons) owned by American Export Lines, sister ship of SS Independence. Both were constructed in the United States and made their maiden voyages in 1951. Commissioned in 1951, she started her long career sailing on the New York City-Genoa-Naples-Gibraltar route to Europe. Following service on American Export's "Sunlane" cruise to Europe in the 1950s and 1960s, the two ships sailed for American Hawaii Cruises and American Global Line for many years in the 1980s and 1990s. Constitution was retired in 1995; while under tow to be scrapped, the liner sank 700 nautical miles (1,300 km) north of the Hawaiian Islands on 17 November 1997.

The Temple of Athena (formerly Temple of Hera), also known as the Temple of Juno (from the Roman name for the goddess) or Temple D, is a Greek temple in the ancient city of Akragas located in the Valley of the Temples of Agrigento. It was built in the second half of the 5th century BC, around 450 BC and belongs in time and style to the Classical Doric period.
