The M.S. Beaverbrae ( 9,034 tons) was built as Huascaran by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg (Germany), in 1939, for the Hamburg-America Line. She made his maiden voyage from Hamburg and the West coast of South America. On return taken over by German Navy for conversion to a submarine depot ship. Spent most of WW2 in Norway where she was captured undamaged by the Allies in 1945. Allocated to Canada as war reparation; refit at Liverpool 1947. Purchased by Canadian Pacific and renamed Beaverbrae, she made her first sailing for them 8 February 1948 from St.John NB with cargo to London. She then sailed to Bremen to pick up passengers for Canada. Eventually she made 51 sailings from Bremen carrying 38,000 displaced persons to Canada as refugees whilst carrying cargo eastbound. Her last emigrant voyage to Canada departed on 28 July 1954. Sold to Compagnia Genovese d'Armamento, Genoa 1 November 1954, she was rebuilt at Monfalcone to 10,022 GRT with accommodation for 1,124 tourist class passengers. Renamed Aurelia, she sailed from Trieste on13 May 1955, via Suez to Australia and made later voyages from Genoa. Re-engined in 1958-59 and rebuilt to 10,480 tons, and she started Bremen-Suez-Australia service on 12 June 1959. In 1962 she began a round of 34 voyages between English Channel ports and New York. In 1970 she was sold to Chandris Lines, renamed Romanza and refitted for cruising. Resold to Ambassador Leisure in 1991; renamed Romantica and cruised in the eastern Mediterranean. In 1997 she caught fire returning to Cyprus from Egypt and was abandoned without casualties. The burnt out hulk was towed to Limassol and scrapped the following year.

The Prinses Josephine Charlotte ferry, 113.05 m long and 15.97 m beam, with capacity for 100 vehicles and 700 passengers, was built in 1949 at the Cockerill Hoboken shipyard in Antwerp. She sailed the Ostend - Dover route from 3 June 1949, to 29 June 1952. After being sold to a Greek shipping company, she returned to Ostend in 1969 to cover the route between that port and Harwich (England). In November 1970, she was incorporated into the Sealink consortium. She was withdrawn from service in 1974, and on 8 March 1976, she was sold to the Blanca Shipping Company of Panama, which changed its name to Leto. In 1977, it was acquired by the Greek shipping company G. Kausouniadis, which renamed it Athens Express, which used it for domestic voyages and for routes from Piraeus to Cyprus and Syria. After several accidents, it was scrapped in Eleusis Bay, Greece, in 1984.

The Convair 340, which had a longer fuselage than its predecessor, the 240 model, larger wings and more powerful engines. The 340 first flew on October 5, 1951. Production ceased in 1970. Features: Wing span, 32.22 m; Light, 24.14 m; Height, 8.46 m; Cruising speed, 448 km/h; Maximum range with full load, 2,130 km.

The MS Deutschland was built in Deggendorf (Niederbayern) by the Deggendorfer Werft und Eisenbau Gesellschaft, and was put into service on 4 June 1935. Between 1949 and 1952 it sailed under the name Lindau, and from 1952 it regained its original name, which it maintained until 1970, when it was named Überlingen II. She was demolished at the end of 2005. She had a length of 56.30 m, a width of 11.80 m and a draft of 1.65 m. Its speed was about 25 km/h, and it could accommodate 800 people. Between 1935 and 1945 it was owned by the Deutsche Reichsbahn, and between 1945 and 1994, by the Deutsche Bundesbahn. In 1994 the property passed to the Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH.

The Montserrat was built in Baltimore (USA) in 1945, as a cargo ship, for the United States Navy, and left the shipyard under the name Wooster Victory. Between 1948 and 1949 she was used to bring hundreds of Jewish refugees in China during WWII to the new state of Israel. In 1950 she was bought by the Sitmar Line and converted into a cargo and passenger ship with the name Castel Verde, and in 1957 she became property of the Compañía Trasatlántica Española, with the name Montserrat. The ship had capacity for 825 passengers, and served the line between Spain and Central America. She had several breakdowns, the most important being in August 1970, when she was making the trip from Venezuela to Tenerife, with 600 passengers, and broke down in the middle of the Atlantic. She had a temporary repair done in Curaçao, and then she continued doing the line. In February 1973 she completed her last voyage, disembarking 46 passengers from England in Vigo. Afterwards, she was taken to Castellón, where she was scrapped.

The Olympia was built in 1953 by Alexander Stephen & Sons, Glasgow (Scotland). She was designed to operate regular transatlantic voyages from Piraeus to New York, although later from 1961 she became a seasonal cruise ship. In 1970 with competition from air travel she became a full time cruise ship, however in 1974 Greek Line collapsed and ceased operations and the Olympia was laid up at Piraeus. Since then she has sailed for a variety of operators as a successful cruise ship. Since 2004 the former Olympia has operated Caribbean cruises for Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines as Regal Empress. She has ended her long and proud reign of the sea when she departed Freeport early in April 2009 sailing towards her final destination of Alang India where she will be broken up. Her voyage took over three months to complete. During her long three month voyage, she was renamed Regal Empress. She arrived at Alang India on June 18 and was beached on 24 July 2009. Then in October torches commenced cutting off the bow of the ship. The demolition was finally completed early in 2010.

El ferry Prince of Britanny was built as the MS Prince of Fundy in 1970 by Schiffbau Gesellschaft Unterweser, AG, in Bremerhaven, Germany, for the Swedish company Lion Ferry service between Portland, Maine, and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. The ship was chartered by Brittany Ferries from 17 April 1978 initially to sail on the Portsmouth-Santander route. Her main route was Portsmouth-Saint Malo and she was renamed MS Prince of Brittany. She was subsequently bought and registered in France in 1980. On 30 December 1988, she was renamed MS Reine Mathilde in preparation for her transfer to the Portsmouth-Caen (Ouistreham) route. In 1991 was subsequently chartered by British Channel Island Ferries (BCIF) in which Brittany Ferries held a large share. In 1992, she took up service between Poole and the Channel Islands under a Bahamas registration and renamed MS Beauport. She later she was in service for Hellenic Inter Ferries (1994-1995) and Comanav (1995-2000). Later she became the property of the Government of Trinidad & Tobago (2000-2005). In 2005, she was sent to India and was scrapped on a beach at Alang.

The Monterey was built by Bethlehem Steel of Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1952 as the Free State Mariner "Mariner"-class cargo ship and completely rebuilt at Willamette Steel in Portland, Oregon, in 1956 as the 365-passenger luxury liner for the Matson Line service in the South Seas. After successive sales, in 1994 she passed into the hands of the Italian shipping company Flotta Lauro, which became Mediterranean Shipping Cruises. In 2006, renamed Monte, she was transferred to Alang (India) for scrapping.

MSC was founded in Naples in 1970 by Gianluigi Aponte and began operations with two ships, which covered an operational merchant line between the Mediterranean and Somalia. The company expanded through the acquisition of second-hand cargo ships. By 1977, the company was operating in northern Europe, Africa, and the Indian Ocean. Business expansion continued through the 1980s; by the end of the decade, MSC was operating shipping lines to North America and Australia. In 1989, MSC acquired the cruise operator Lauro Lines, which was renamed MSC Cruises in 1995. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Fair Lady motor ship is a German passenger ship owned by the shipping company Cassen Eils of Cuxhaven. She was built in 1970 at the Mützelfeldt shipyard in Cuxhaven. The keel was laid on May 6, 1969 and the launching took place on March 6, 1970. The work was completed in May 1970. It was initially used for the connection with the island of Heligoland, and later for routes between Kiel and Marstal, on the Danish island of Ærø, and between Eckernförde and Sønderborg. In April 2000 she was chartered by Halligreederei Sven Paulsen, who used her until 30 April 2004 as Adler Baltica between Zinnowitz and the Polish city of Świnoujście. Between July 2005 and December 2010, the ship sailed under the name Lady Assa under the Polish flag on a charter for Żegluga Gdańska between Kołobrzeg, Darłowo, Ustka in Poland and Nexø on the Danish island of Bornholm. In January 2011, she was bought back by shipping company Cassen Eils, who used her for traffic between Bremerhaven and Heligoland. In October 2020, the ship was temporarily used by AG Ems between Emden and Borkum Island, and she was later decommissioned in preparation for conversion to LPG propulsion.
