UGC is an operator of cinemas in France and Belgium, which in 2022 operated 57 movie theaters. It is also an important film production and distribution company. It was originally an exclusively French operator, founded in 1946 as Union Générale Cinématographique, privatized in 1971, which merged with several regional cinema companies that managed 22 cinemas.
