Snowdon Mountain Railway is a cogwheel railway that began operating in 1896 and takes passengers the 4.7 kilometres from Llanberis to the summit station on Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa in Welsh). At the summit there is a visitor centre called Hafod Eryri, built in 2006 to replace the original one from the 1930s.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyll or Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll, sometimes shortened to Llanfair PG, is a village and community on the Isle of Anglesey, Wales. At the 2011 Census the population was 3,107, of whom 71% could speak Welsh. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (Church Mary a Hollow White Hazel near to the Rapid Whirpool Church Saint Tysilio Cave Red) is a lengthened form of the community name, used in some contexts. With 58 characters split into 18 syllables, the small town is purported to have the longest name in Europe and the second longest one-word place name in the world.
