The Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall) in Hanover opened in June 1913 after twenty years of construction. It was designed by the architects Hermann Eggert and Gustav Halmhuber. The height of the dome with its observation deck is 100 metres. Its elevator, opened in April 2008, is the only one in Europe that runs inside a parabolic dome.
