The Joaquín Díaz Foundation is a non-profit Spanish cultural entity dependent on the Valladolid Provincial Council (Diputación Provincial), whose objective is to promote knowledge, appreciation and dissemination of traditional culture. It was created in 1994 from the Ethnographic Center born in 1985, when the folklorist Joaquín Díaz offered his collections (engravings of costumes, string sheets, library, music library and instruments) to be exhibited in an 18th century mansion that the Provincial Council had in Urueña. Said ethnographic headquarters was inaugurated in March 1991, open to research, tourism and the curious public.
