Maid of the Mist is the name of a Canadian family-owned company that offers boat tours of Niagara Falls, on the border between the United States and Canada. In service since 1846, it is one of the oldest active tourist services in the world. The company, since its foundation, has had several boats with the same name: Maid of the Mist. The one on the postcard served in the 1950s and 1960s. This name could be a reference to the Iroquois myth of Lelawala.
