MS DEUTSCHLAND
Überlingen am Bodensee

The MS Deutschland was built in Deggendorf (Niederbayern) by the Deggendorfer Werft und Eisenbau Gesellschaft, and was put into service on 4 June 1935. Between 1949 and 1952 it sailed under the name Lindau, and from 1952 it regained its original name, which it maintained until 1970, when it was named Überlingen II. She was demolished at the end of 2005. She had a length of 56.30 m, a width of 11.80 m and a draft of 1.65 m. Its speed was about 25 km/h, and it could accommodate 800 people. Between 1935 and 1945 it was owned by the Deutsche Reichsbahn, and between 1945 and 1994, by the Deutsche Bundesbahn. In 1994 the property passed to the Bodensee Schiffsbetriebe GmbH.
