The "BERLIN" ship on the Rhine river in Königswinter, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Postcard

BERLIN
Rhine river in Königswinter

Postcard by Rahmel-Verlag, Pulheim, Köw 210.

The Berlin was a passenger ship built in 1959 for the Dampfschiffahrts-Gesellschaft für den Nieder- und Mittelrhein (DGNM), which was used by the Cologne-Düsseldorfer Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt until 2003 in service on the Rhine. After the sale to the Dutch Princess Services B.V. in Dordrecht she was converted into an event ship and used under the name Tourmalijn until 2010 for special and event trips. Shortly after she was resold to RiverZZ Events BV and renamed River ZZ, she burned out completely on September 9, 2011 near the Erasmus Bridge on the Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam, so she had to be scrapped in early 2012.
