The cathedral of Palencia is a temple of Catholic worship. It is dedicated to San Antolín de Pamiers, patron saint of the city, part of whose relics it preserves. It is a predominantly Gothic style building, although it retains earlier elements, from the Visigothic and Romanesque periods, and Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical decorative elements. It was built between the 14th and 16th centuries. It is a construction of great proportions, the third largest cathedral in Spain, with its 130 meters in length, with a width of 50 meters in the transept, plus the cloister and chapter house; the apse is about 42 meters high. Its bell tower is 55 meters high. It was declared a National Monument on November 3, 1929.
