BUPESA was founded on 2 April 1930 by a group of 30 residents of Peñaflor to carry out the passenger transport service between Peñaflor and Santiago, with stops in intermediate locations. Starting in 1979, the service was extended to various locations in the metropolitan area of Santiago (Gran Santiago). The number of businessmen that made up the company also increased.
