This station on the Manresa line came into operation in 1859 when the section built by the Compañía del Ferrocarril de Zaragoza a Barcelonas between Terrassa (1856) and Manresa came into service.

In this reproduction of an old photo you can see the locomotives 0-3-0 T "Berga" nº 7, and 0-4-0 "Verraco".
