The Arth–Rigi railway line is a Swiss standard gauge rack railway that runs from Arth-Goldau RB to Rigi. It was built between 1873–1875 and operated by that company until its merger with the Vitznau-Rigi-Bahn in 1992 to form Rigi Railways.

The Rigibahn was Europe's first rack railway. It was designed by the Swiss engineer Niklaus Riggenbach and was built in two stages between 1870 and 1875. It was electrified between 1928 and 1937. The rolling stock was modernised several times, most recently between 1967 and 1982.

The railway line between Győr and Sopron (Hungary) was established on 2 January 1876 by GySEV Raaberbahn.

GySEV Raaberbahn (Raab–Oedenburg–Ebenfurter Eisenbahn AG) was an Austrian-Hungarian railway company founded in Budapest on 1st February 1875. It had its headquarters in Sopron. The line was extended to the Austrian city of Ebenfurt in 1879.

The Pontifical Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompei (Italian: Pontificio Santuario della Beata Vergine del Santo Rosario di Pompei) is a Roman Catholic cathedral, Marian pontifical shrine, and Pontifical minor basilica commissioned by Bartolo Longo, located in Pompei, Italy. It is the see of the Territorial Prelature of Pompei. Bartolo Longo started restoring a church in disrepair in October 1873 and promoted a festival in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary. In 1875, Longo obtained a painting of Our Lady of the Rosary from a convent in Naples and raised funds to restore the image so as to locate it in the church. Miracles began to be reported and pilgrims began flocking in droves to the church. Three hundred people of the area pledged a penny a month for the work. Bartolo Longo was encouraged by Giuseppe Formisano, Bishop of Nola, to begin the construction of a larger church—the cornerstone being laid on the 8 May 1876. The church was consecrated on the 7 May 1891 by Cardinal Raffaele Monaco La Valletta, representing Pope Leo XIII.

[The Pleasant Point Museum and Railway is a narrow gauge heritage railway located in the small country town of Pleasant Point in southern Canterbury, New Zealand, inland from Timaru. Its main terminal is located at Pleasant Point station, which was an important stop on the Fairlie Branch. For just over a year from 24 December 1875, Pleasant Point was actually the terminus of the line as construction further inland proceeded, and upon completion of the line, it functioned as a typical country station until closure of the Fairlie Branch came on 2 March 1968. After the line closed, a historical society was formed with the aim of preserving Pleasant Point station, as the original building from 1875 still stood, with the addition of a 1930s booking office. The society ultimately managed to preserve the station, yard, and roughly 2.5 km of track.]
