FANSIPAN CABLECAR
Sa Pa
Sa Pa is located 332 km northeast of Hanoi, near the border with China. The cableway station is in the tourist area of Hoang Lien, about 3 km from Sa Pa. The cableway is 1,400 m long, and the journey takes about 20 minutes. Each cabin has capacity for 30 or 35 people. It was inaugurated on 2 February 2016. The upper station is located very close to the summit of Fansipan, which is accessed by a staircase of 600 steps. Fansipan (Phan Xi Păng), in the Hoàng Liên Sơn mountain range, is the highest mountain in Vietnam and also in the entire Indochina Peninsula: its altitude is 3,143 meters (10,308 ft), and it is a major tourist attraction.
