J. J. SISTER
Compañía Trasmediterránea
The J.J. Sister was built by Navigazione Genérale Italiana at the Odero shipyard in Sestri Ponente, Genoa, in 1896. Flying the Italian flag, her name was Galileo Galilei, she served with the islands of Sardinia and Sicily. She was part of the Compañía Valenciana de Vapores Correos de África (Valencian Company of African Mail Steamers) and, from 1916, the Compañía Trasmediterránea (Transmediterranean Company). She served on various routes and was a prison ship during the Spanish Civil War. She was scrapped in 1964.
